Study On Chemical Control Level Of Dredged Material Dumping At Sea

Dredged material is the major waste considering disposal. "Classification norm and evaluation procedure of disposal dredged material" was issued in 1992 (in short as "the Norm of 1992"). The Norm of 1992 was issued for the need of marine disposal management and meeting with "London Convention 1972", and it was limited by many factors, including temporal scientific research level, implementation statue of marine environmental protection technique norm, dredged material disposal management required by "London Convention 1972" to contracting parties and international study level in the field of dredged material disposal. The implementation of "the Norm of 1992" exist some scientific problems that need reconsideration and solvent, and one of core problems is the consideration and determination of numerical control standard (upper and lower limit) of pollutant disposal. The numerical standard should be deduced through integrated consideration of the base line of coastal pollution, biological effect of pollutant, marine environmental standard like marine water quality standard and marine sediment quality standard, dredged material disposal management and control standard of other countries, and local marine environmental protection policy.In this study, base on coastal marine sediment investigation and monitoring results of our country, we examined the analysis results of dredged material constitution in four sea areas of the nation, use and refer to successful experience in establishing marine sediment quality standard of our country and dredged material disposal management and control standard of other countries, suggested a numerical control standard of pollutant in dredged material disposal in our country as a reference to marine wastes disposal management.
