The thesis discussing the research subject supported by the key project of Xi'an city. Calcium Carbide (CaC2) is the kinds of basic material for organic synthesis, and can produce acetylene gas, Calcium Carbide furnace is the main equipment which produce CaC2. For the purpose of improve production quality and reduce energy consumption, we study the control strategy and build an automation system for Calcium Carbide furnace ,and standardize the operating procedure from manual operation which depend on human experience, At the same time, we store raw data and report to achieve computer aid management.This thesis discussed the engineering design of Calcium Carbide furnace control system and the algorithm research for three-phase electrode adjustment. On the basis of studying CaC2 production technics, we set up an automation system using industrial computer and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).We use modularized PLC Siemens S7-300 system to collect data and control production technics, and use WinCC SCADA software to design application software which has a friendly human machine interface (HMI) and can manage real-time data.At last, the thesis analyze the three-phase electrode adjust system. Because Calcium Carbide furnace is a non-linear ,large time delay and phase coupled complex object ,we developed two algorithms which are integration-detached PID algorithm and decoupled fuzzy algorithm, then implement the algorithms based on the automation system.
