Ceramic material has got notable accomplishments in the domain of structural material because of its many strong points such as high temperature resistance, high rigidity, resistance to corrosion and abrasion, etc. Whereas, the inherent brittleness and the difficulty to process restricted its further use. On the foundation of the material remove principle of ceramic machining, by corresponding component design and heat treatment techniques, we can make weak bond plane in the ceramic and realize its machinability through controlling the microstructure and boundary stress.We chose TiB2 ceramic material as the base body in the research because of its excellent performance. Powder surface modification and vacuum hot-pressing sintering technique were used to make machinable TiB2 ceramic composite. The parameters and specialties of the powder surface modification techniques were mainly studied. At the same time, their effects on the outcomes of powder surface modification and the material capabilities were also analyzed. On the base of our studies, we can manufacture mechanical TiB2 composite and analyze the machining mechanism by optimizing correlative apparatuses.The outcomes of our studies showed that the mechanical methods such as Hybridization system, planet ball milling system and spray dryness system all could make the powder surface modification of BN to TiB2. The composite powders could get the optimal effect of powder surface modification with good spheroid and uniform compact coating by spray dryness system. The experiments show that the material can get excellent mechanical properties comparatively by vacuum hot-pressing sintering.TiB2/BN composite ceramic with weak interface can be manufactured by vacuum hot-pressing technique after optimizing the technicalparameters of powder surface modification. The microstructure shows that the raw materials distribute equably. Raptures along crystal bound occur mainly and the material has good machinability when the volume content of BN is more than 20%.The breach and machining of material are all based on the expand extent of the tiny crack within the material. The germination, expansion and reciprocity of the crack inside the material embody on the crystal bound of the material. So, in this study we can change the bourgeon and extend condition of the tiny crack inside the material by design and control the crystal interface structure effectively and provide new research approach for the design and manufacture of the machinability ceramic.
