In the industry of machine processing, foundry is an intensity work procedure and working environment is bad. With gradually vigorous competition in market economy, its profit space is becoming more and more smaller. As well know, sand model drying is an important work step, and directly influences the product quality. At present, most companies are using electric stove drying and the fuel drying, their control are simple electric system, and their volume is big, dependence is bad, the rate of break down is high. In the dry process, customer can't set up the parameters according to the characteristics of sand model. This not only wastes energy but also makes sand model transmogrify and drying time is long. Besides these shortcomings, the system also has such as pollution, big voice and so on. The points above not only increase the cost, but also affect the quantity of the product.Therefore, it is urgent to reform the technique of the foundry craft in the industry of machine processing, especially the craft of sand model in the process of drying. It is necessary to adopt new craft of energy- saving, pollution-free, quick speed of drying and no distortion. So we research the technique of microwave to dry the sand models and use it to replace the traditional electric cooker. This is possible.The paper aims at the actual need of the factories, by use of the characteristics of the microwave develops a new type microware drying equipment, which is high efficient, energy- saving and pollution-free. The mechanical electrical and system control parts of the microwave drying equipment are designed. As well know. In the field of fuzzy control application, fuzzy controller is usually realized in PC or SCM and mostly by use of fuzzy control chip in industry control field. The paper uses PLC and fuzzy control technique to realize the effective fuzzy control on microwave drying equipment by use of STL software programming.The main technical parameters of the new equipment: rating power 18kW, microwave frequency 2450 MHz, error margin ± 12.5 MHz, hearth volume 1m3.As the requests of the parameters, the equipment can only dry standard sand models. But it is a new attempt in the application of drying craft, particularly in northeast area there are somany foundry factories, and now government is putting forward "developing old industry in northeast" strategy, so this paper will have a very big and actual meaning.
