High-energy ball milling is a one of the technology of making material.Friction effect led to change of material and property. Ni—Si system intermetallics as a new and potential high temperature structure and function material is valued and researched by many scholars.Especially Ni3Si intermetallics has high intensity at high temperature, low density and good resistance to erosion and so on. It is a new material possessed high intensity and enduring erosion, so it has booming prospect. But few people engage this research. The article carries out the research of Ni3Si high-energy ball milling by QM-ISP (4L) and P-5 planet ball milling ,XRD,SEM.During the milling process of 3Ni/Si mixture powder in QM-ISP (4L) planet ball milling, the tendency of the factors of tribochemical effect is the crystalline size decrease and the microstrain and effect temperature factor increase gradually accompanied by the milling time, at last the crystalline size tends to stability.During the Ni3Si high-energy ball milling process in P—5 planet ball milling, we found that when the turning speed is 300rpm, the proportion of ball to powder is 10:1 and mixture powder after 45h milling times under annealed at 600°C the power can come into being Ni3Si intermetallics.During 180h milling process, it has been found that first the powders form solid solution ,then amorphous gradually and crystallization of amorphous at last come into being Ni3Si intermetallics during milling time. With the Miedema model analyzing the thermodynamics.During the Ni3Si high-energy ball milling process oxygen contamination can strongly inhibit the Ni/Si solid-state reaction.
