Several different denaturalization starchs have been prepared and the photodegradation behavior of its blending with the polyethylene has been studied in this thesis. Some results have been found when the blending was irradiated in UV light of 375W(15cm between lamp-house and sample):1. The mechanical performance, the numerical value of positron annihilation lifetime ( Ï„ ) and the polyethylene molecule weight of sample decrease but carbonyl index increase with irradiation time prolonged.2. The mechanical performance of hydroxypropyl starch/polyethylene sample increases quickly and then stably, variational range of carbonyl index decreases, variational range of polyethylene molecule weight increases quickly and then stably, Ï„ and variational range of Ï„ are stability with the MS (mol degree of substitute) of hydroxypropyl starch increases after illumination.
