Analysis And Design Of A New High-pressure Water Abrasive Jet System For Descaling

The high pressure abrasive water jet is a effective jet technology which has been developed since 1980s.With advantages of low working pressure,high efficiency and no pollution,this techonology has got much attention and wide application since its coming and has shown tremendous potential in metal cutting,cleaning,deburring,descaling etc.According to the project of the Special Steel Plant in Shandong Laiwu Steel Group,the technologies on high pressure abrasive water jet are researched detailedly,and a suit of equipments for descaling is analysed and desighed in this paper.The background of the project is introduced firstly in the dissertation.The technologies of chemical,mechnical,shot-peening,high pressure water jet and abrasive water jet are analysed and contrasted.On this basis,the general scheme and systematic structure of a new high pressure abrasive water jet for descaling is established,which combines the merits of high pressure water jet and wet sand-throwed descaling.The primary work of this paper is described.Then the essential theory and detailed mechanism of high pressure pure water jet and abrasive water jet is followed,the velocity and pressure distributing of which are discussed.At last,the equipments of high pressure water jet and wet sand-throwed descaling are designed according to the high reliability and stability of production.The design and selection of some key componants such as pump,nozzle,pipeline,tank and abrasive particle are presented and computer monitored controlling is realized at the end of paper.Local experiment indicates that the new high pressure abrasive water jet system can run reliably and has noticeable performance for the steel bar which meets the practical requests of production.
