Coal gas scrubbing wastewater is a kind of typical poisonous deep—polluted wastewater which is difficult to be degraded. It has always been an important research subject to seek for an high-efficient ,economic and convenient wastewater treatment method in the field of wastewater treatment. Coagulation and Sedimentation combining biochemical treatment has been used in the practical engineering as an important measure. Heavy . economic burden may be brought to the manufactory because of the complex technological processes and high operating cost, however. This article introduces the forming and characteristics of the coal gas scrubbing wastewater and makes a comprehensive review of its treatment technology. It then puts forward a coagulation—high efficiency compound microorganisms method to treat coal gas scrubbing wastewater on the basis of the predecessors' research. The study showed that the ideal treatment results could be achieved when the HCA polymer emulsion breaking agent was employed with HCB polymer coagulation. The maximum removal rate of coal tar, SS, phenol, CODCr was 97.1%, 98.2%, 48.3%, 46.5%, respectively. Moreover, perfect secondary treatment effects could be achieved using SBR reactor method when the high efficiency compound microorganisms were added as a biochemistry treatment of coal gas scrubbing wastewater in the reactor since the extraordinary ability of mixcycle—breaking, long—chain fracturing, salt fastness, denitrification , COD removal, biodegradation ability increasing could be provided by high efficiency compound microorganisms. The maximum removal rate of coal tar, BOD5, phenol, CODcr in wastewater were 88.1%, 93.1%, 99.6% and 93.6%, respectively , and the effluent quality could meet the relevant national discharging standard. The coal gas scrubbing wastewater whose mass concentration of coal tar, CODcr, BOD5, and phenol were 1295 mg/L, 1642 mg/1, 581 mg/L and 260 mg/L respectively was treated by a method of emulsion breaking—coagulation—compound microorganism aeration. After the treatment, the concentration of coal tar , CODcr, BOD5 and phenol in the outlet water was 61.4-104.4 mg/L, 24-41 mg/L, 0.64-0.83 mg/L respectively. It is worth spreading of the treatment method owing to appropriately selected coagulant and inoculating seed, simple technological processes and low operating cost.
