By different proportion of material, the raw asphalt is modified, and the performance of both raw asphalt and blended asphalt is improved. By the modification, the softening point is greatly increased, while the penetration and the extensive ability is reduced, at the same time, the performance in low temperature of blended asphalt is improved. The paper analyzes the result of the experiment, further researches the mechanism of waste-PE's modifying asphalt, and concludes the structure of PE and its performance, and that the net structure formed by modified raw asphalt and PE is the fundamental cause of theimprovement in the performance of asphalt.
