n-Octylphosphate, an anti static agent, is synthesized with n-octanol and phosphorous pentoxide as the starting materials. The structure is confirmed through IR and the contents are analyzed by sodium hydroxide titration with the two indicators of phenolphthalein and alizarin red. Effects of the quality of the starting materials, molar ratio of the starting materials, feeding temperature of phosphorous pentoxide, stirring rate, reaction temperature, reaction time, hydrolysis process and wash process on the product are investigated. Stable and optimal reaction condition is found. Contents of the product match the demand in the contract and proper production conditions are designed. Then the syntheses of a series of long-chain alkyl phosphate esters, the comparisons of which are in the range of the contract, are carried out. Their anti static abilities were investigated. The effects of the length of alkyl chains of phosphates and their salts on anti static abilities were studied.Mono dodecyl phosphate is synthesized using trichloro phosphate and di dodecyl phosphate is synthesized using phosphorous pentoxide. The structures are confirmed by IR and contents are analyzed by GC and HPLC. Mixed esters with different mass ratios of mono and di esters are prepared. Surface tensions of each of the four phosphate solutions at different concentrations are measured, the critical micelle concentrations (CMC) and the surface tention at the CMC ( γcmc) are obtained, and the maximum surface excess concentration (Γ m), the minimum area per molecule at the interface (Am), efficiency of surface tension reduction (pC20), effectiveness of surface tension reduction (Πcmc) are calculated. The thermodynamic parameters of adsorption and micellization (ΔGads°, -ΔGmin°) are also calculated. Wetting, foaming and emulsifying abilities of the four products are measured and compared with each other. Results show that addition of fatty alcohol may improve the surface properties.
