Recently, coordination polymers and supramolecular architectures formed through the deliberate selection of metals and multifunctional ligands have received much attention for their fascinating structural diversity and specific functionality, which have made them highly promising in various applications, particularly absorption, catalysis and molecular magnetization. According to the principle of crystal engineering, it is possible that rational design and synthesis of porous crystalline materials by selecting certain geometric metal ions and special organic ligands. The design and synthesis of materials with porus structures are topics of current interest and of great challenge. In recent years, the design of porus coordination polymers through the self-assembly of the ligands and metal cations has achieved much progress, but most of them are prepared in phosphates, phosphates and oxides under hyderthermal conditions in the presence of organic amine as a structure-directing agent (template). The aim of this work is to construct the coordination polymer through diverse ligands including dicarboxyl or polycarboxyl groups (biphenyl-3,3',4,4'-tetracarboxylic acid(btec), 3,3'-dicarboxy-2,2'-bipyridine etc) using the self-assembly and hydrothermal reaction. This dissertation is divided into four parts. Firstly one briefly introduce about the concept and development of coordination polymers are given, as well as the current survey, research significance, reviews on the coordination polymers constructed from ligands including carboxyl group and the general syntheses method. One rigid aroma polycarboxyl ligands have been introduced into the complexes. A Zn(II) complex 1 and a one-dimensional polymeric Co(II) complex 2 constructed with terephthalate in the presence of an additional linkage ligand 4,4'-bipyridine have been described in different PH value, and the fluorescent properties are given. At the same time [Cd2(btec)(phen)3]n 3 have been obtained, too. a ligand, 3,3'-dicarboxy-2,2'-bipyridine (3,3'-dcbp) ,have been synthesized are acting as ligands to coordinate to main group metal Cu(II), and the crystal structure 4 has been reseached a Troger Base ligand 5 have been synthesized, and the crystal structure has been reseached In conclusion we have prepared some the coordination polymer with several ligands including polycarboxyl and heterocyclic group successfully, and find that it may be a good method to get prous or functional structure .
