When the world entered the 21st century, as one of the three momentous high- and new technology, materials have been paid more and more attention, which also take even more remarkable role of pushing the development of society. On the contrary, the advancement of society makes it possible for the co positive application of various materials. In order to keep up with the prosperity of national economy, the demands from every industrial field are higher than ever, so the materials with single property are not enough for the actual need but composite with the diversified and improved properties can meet.As one of the branches of composite, famous for its super performance, coated fabric has been used in daily life of mankind has been widely applied in aviation, astronautics, transportation, chemical, building material, sports, entertainment, medicine, health advertisement, and so on. The inventions of better weaving or knitting technology and higher performance resin pour the new vigor into the development of composite. In this dissertation we creatively selected the Multi-axial Warp-knitted fabric as the support material and combined it with macromolecular resin into coated fabric in laboratory, then compared it with common coated fabrics with woven or Dual-axial Warp-knitted fabric reinforced on mechanical properties, finally we summarized the factors that influent the production quality of rubber- or plastics- coated fabric during the large scale manufacture. In addition, we enumerated and analyzed the standards of test methods for this special composite assorted by nation and organization and believe it will be helpful for the establishment and unification of the standard for the same kind of production in our country, because of the globalization of manufacture and application. At last, the author analyzed the current and future market for this new material.During the experiment and research of the dissertation, multitudes of test samples were made, which are classified by the thickness of yarn, density of fabric, texture and procedure of coating.First, this paper introduced the requirements for standard test methods for mechanical performances of rubber-or plastic- coated fabrics and the process of Multi-axial Warp Knitted Coated Fabric(MWK). Both of them made preparation for the tests of this characteristic composite.Secondly, we focused on the tensile performance of Multi-axial Warp Knitted Coated Fabric (MWK). When the results are discussed, the corresponding ones from woven and dual-axial knitted coated fabric are referred. MWK Coated Fabrics can give more impact resistance than that oftypical dual directional layers of filaments, because it can insert more than tree layers equably on the plane and strengthened the isotropy of tensile performance. In addition, in virtue of the naturally unbend shape of filaments in the warp-knitted fabrics, not only the very high utility of mechanical performances MWK Coated Fabric remains, but also weight and costs can be reduced for economy.Thirdly, beginning with the analyses of the graphs and pictures from tests, this paper established the common mechanical model for coated fabrics, then educed the special model for MWK Coated Fabric to prove the phenomena during the tests. Finally, this paper summed up the factors that influence the mechanical performances of common coated fabrics from textile and elementary chemical aspects. In this dissertation, however there are still some problems that should be solved in the future. At the end, the several expectations for consequent research were put forward.
