| This dissertation aims to study wood specimen on three layers step by step, develop three kinds of digital information system based on effective utilization of wood resources with Vb, Asp and Sql technology. The research object obtained from wood specimen information collected from Research Institute of Wood Industry in Chinese Academy of Forestry. It used Visual Basic and Dreamweaver as developing tool, Sqlserver and Access as data management tool. The results are as following:1) Taking hardwood specimen as research object, after digital processing of the tree name, the producing area of wood specimen, wood use, wood structure and identification, physical properties, processing properties, macroscopical and microscopical image information, a digital information system of wood processing and utilization based on single computer was set up. It achieved the query and search of wood name, wood properties, wood macroscopic and microscopic image on computer.2) Taking hardwood specimen as research object, based on hardwood information database, by asp and sql technology, a digital information system of wood processing and utilization based on web was set up. It achieved query and search of wood Chinese name, English name and Latin name on computer.3) Taking all wood specimen in the laboratory as research object, by digital processing of wood species name, faculty name ,genus name and the producing area of wood specimen, a digital information system based on web was completed. It achieved query and search of wood collection code, Chinese name, Latin name as key words on computer.4) There three kinds of digital information system acheived share of wood information, provided convenient and quick information service for the faculty of research , teaching , production, management trade in wood industry. Also,it deepened our understanding of wood properties of main hardwood species in chia, then presented a scienticcific solving method for utilizing wood resources reasonably and effectively.
