With high specific surface area, ordered pore structure, facilely tailorable pore size, and fine chemical stability and thermostability, Mesoporous molecular sieve MCM-41 has wide application prospects in many fields, such as catalyst chemistry, adsorption and separation. In this thesis, the key factors in the synthesis of mesoporous molecular sieve MCM-41 including the molar ratio of surfactant and water to silica, pH value, crystallizating temperature and time, were investigated separately. And mesoporous molecular sieve MCM-41, with good crystallization degree and regular pore channels was synthesized through hydrothermal treatment in alkaline medium by using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as template, sodium silicate solution as inorganic silica source. It was shown that when the molar ratio of the reaction mixture reached to 1SiO2∶0.5Na2O∶0.3CTMABr∶100H2O, after crystallizating at 120℃ for 48 hours, MCM-41 with best quality could be gotten. Then the materials were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM, thermogravimetric analysis, and N2 adsorption-desorption experiments. It turned out the sample possessed ordered hexagonal mesoporous channels, high specific surface area of 1207 m2/g, high specific pore volume of 1.03 cm3/g and narrow pore distribution between 2~3nm. Using the MCM-41 molecular sieve as adsorbents to adsorb methylene blue solution, it indicated that the material had a 97% removal ratio to methylene blue in just 30 minutes and an adsorbed amount of 124mg/g.
