Sulfur dioxide is one of the main gas which cause air pollution. With the enforcement of people's consciousness of environment and more restrictive sulfur dioxide emission, treatment of sulfur dioxide flue gas has become an import and imperative task.Firstly, disposing of sulfur dioxide at home and abroad is introduced in this paper, and study on desorbing sulfur dioxide in citric acid under ultrasonic radiation is presented to correct the shortcomings in the former methods; ultrasonic use in metallurgy and chemical industry and so on is introduced, the working theory of ultrasonic is also clarified in this paper.Secondly, the basic conditions of desorbing sulfur dioxide under ultrasonic radiation is studied, the factors of radiation intensity and the time, the concentration of citrate acid and sulfur dioxide in it ,and citrate , the temperature and stirring on the desorbing efficiency of sulfur dioxide are analyzed and discussed ;on the other side, the question of the stability of citrate acid and the becoming of sulfur acid radical after desorbing are analyzed. The experience phenomenona are clarified with the knowledge of ultrasonics to reveal the basic law of the efficiency of desorbingsulfur dioxide under ultrasonic radiation.Lastly , according to the above study, the prior conditions of benefiting desorbing sulfur dioxide are concluded under the ultrasonic radiation of the frequency 36.5kHz; citrate is stable under ultrasonic radiation and the becoming of sulfur acid radical is few, and the desorbing efficiency of sulfur dioxide isn't influenced.
