Seven precursors of novel benzoxazine based on different bifunctional phenols, primary amines and formaldehyde were synthesized and characterized. In this paper, the better experimental method that overcoming the shortcomings of traditional experimental method was applied. Structures of the precursors were characterized by UV, 1H-NMR and FTIR. FTIR studies indicate that the peaks in 930 — 946 cm-1 range is assigned to benzoxazine structure. The influence of different factors such as reaction medium, reactiontime and the p-substituted groups of phenols on the yield was also studied. The materials cured from the benzoxazine precursors based on phenolic compounds, which is oligomer mixtures, have high glass transition temperatures around 200°C andchar yields 70% at 700°C in N2. It can be used as heat-resistant structure materials. Its Stress is 34.05MPa, Modulus is 2.27GPa and Strain is 1.50%, and it exhibit excellent mechanics properties.
