All experiments were performed under an atmosphere of dry argon with the rigid exclusion of air and moisture using standard Schlenk techniques.The synthesis, characterization of complexes tetrahydrofurfurlfluorenyl and (Me3Si)2NSiMe2 functionized Cyclopentadienyl lanthanide chloride are reported.There are nine compounds in the paper.Reaction of C4H7OCH2Br with 1 equivalent of C13H9Li yielded C4H7OCH2C13H9(1) in 40% at 0℃. At -78℃, lanthanocene chlorides [ η5 :η1-(C4H7OCH2C13H8)]2LnCl[Ln=Nd(2); Ln=Dy(3); Ln=Pr(4); Ln=Ho(5); Ln=Sm(6).] were synthesiszed by the reaction of 2 equiv of tetrahydrofurfurlfluorenyl lithium with corresponding anhydrous lanthanide chorides in THF respectively in 61%. 73% 62% 67% yield. They are sensitive to air and moisture.They can be dissolved in DME THF and toluene easily and can't be dissolved in hexane.
