With the development of economy and people's life improvment, yield of the paper & paperboard is increasing at the velocity of 9.8% per year. Papermaking industry not only wastes water, but pollutes water, to save the water resources, so papermaking industry with wastepaper gets more and more important. The main pollution source of regenerate papermaking industry is from washing during pulping. Compared with the technics of plants, the pollution loading of the technics with wastepaper is lower. Now, the main treatment measure is chemical method, but the effluent is still not up to standard, moreover, which can cause the second pollution. With environmental consciousness raising and wishing to reuse the water, it is a new task to look for means of treating and reusing the wastewater. The article studied on the treatment of papermaking wastewater with MBR, and contrasted with bio-contact oxidation(BCO) method.The results showed when the condition was HRT=10h,water temperature=29℃, DO=3.0mg/L, CODcr, BOD5, colority of the effluent in MBR were118.20 mg/L,13.04mg/L,56.8 times, respectively; CODcr, BOD5, colority of the effluent in BCO were 469.86 mg/L,171.7mg/L,205 times, respectively. Analyzed the molecular weight of the effluent in two reactors, in the bio-contact oxidation effluent, macro-molecules with MW>10000 were the major components, occuping with 72.04%, and molecules with 3000< MW<10000 were only 9.76%. In the MBR effluent, both macromolecules with MW<10000 and small molecules with MW>3000 were dominant, approaching 88.36%. So, the interception of membrane module and the microorganism in MBR made the better effluent quality. However, the effluent quality of MBR did not still meet the first-degree discharge standard of 《Dicharge standard of water pollutants for paper industry》.After pretreatment of the influent with 1ml/100ml Al2(SO4)3, CODcr,BOD5,colority of the effluent in MBR were respectively 84mg/L,9.5mg/L,zero times, up to the first-degree discharge standard.
