Nanomaterial science has new and rapid development in recent years. Nanomaterials have a relevant importance for industrial applications since they have unique properties. Many scientists assure that nanomaterial will become the most promising materials in the 21th century. Nanometer SiO2 is important part of nanomaterials. And it is widely used in many fields, such as polymer composites , ceramics, rubbers, plastics, adhesive bonding and coating etc. In recent years, Nanometer SiO2 is also applied in the field of advanced technology, such as photonic crystals, chromatographic packing packing materials etc. Attention has been focused on the preparation and application of Nanometer SiO2 . In this article, we develop the Stober'method. we prepare fine monodisperse and size-controlled Nanometer SiO2 particles through a simple process. During the hydrolysis of TEOS, many factors such as concentration of TEOS, concentration of ammonia, concentration of water and temperature should be investigated when base is used as catalyst. In our work, we assume that low concentration TEOS reacts when ethanol is added to the system in room temperature and effect of water would be ignored. So we only consider...
