With rapid development of economy, water pollution condition turning worse day after day, our country has gradually enlarged investment in treatment of municipal wastewater. But infrastructure investment and operation cost has brought huge economic pressure on the construction and operation of sewage plants. As core of the biological treatment of wastewater, aeration system is the big item of the energy consuming of sewage plants, the infrastructure investment of which is also huge. So, it has become one of the hot points of research in the field of wastewater treatment. Now, bubble aeration system has the most extensive application in municipal wastewater treatment field in our country, however, jet aeration, as a kind of aeration system with prospects, has limited expansion and application since founded. The paper begins from the study of self-suction jet aeration system. Aeration performance of jet aerator was investigated in clear water and sludge-water liquor at the wastewater treatment plant of a printing and dyeing company. At the clear water experiment, four testing cross sections were established. According to the experiment, aeration performance of the jet aerators is gradually increased when the water becoming deeper. The aeration performance of the jet aerators is the best at the depth of 4.5 meter. Total oxygen transfer coefficient KLais0.4219(1/min),together with aeration ability Qc 0.2228(kgO2/m3·h),power efficiency Ep 3.373(kgO2/kwh),oxygen utilization ratio EA24.14(%),which meets the expanding terms in the "confirming technical terms of environmental protection products in China :jet aerator" established by bureau of national environmental protection. At the sludge-water liquor experiment carried later, the oxygen aeration performance of the jet aerators decreased. By analyzing, the author regards that work liquid characteristic is the main factor that impacts the aeration performance of the jet aerators. For the sake of complete comparison and analysis of the two kinds of process, aeration performance of a bubble aeration system has been tested at a municipal wastewater plant too.At last, aeration performance and economic performance were contrast analyzed for the two kinds of process. The jet aeration system has no advantages in power...
