A strain D-1 producing thermostable and acidostable pullulanase isolated from Tenchong Hot Spring, Yunnan, China. Identification and systematic taxonomy of D-l was carried out, using polyphasic technology including morphological characteristic observation, physiological and biochemical tests, analysis of chemotaxonomy, 16S rDNA sequences, G+C contents, and DNA-DNA homologies etc. Strain D-l was proposed as Alicyclobacillus tengchongensis sp. nov.. The optimum temperature of the pullulanase produced by Alicyclobacillus tengchongensis is 60 ℃ and the optimum pH is 4.0.
