Self-propagation High-temperature Synthesis is a new method of preparing materials. The typical characteristic of this method is the formation of combustion wave during an exothermic reaction, at the same time combustion wave trigger another chemical reaction in the whole system. In this paper,the thermal explosion ignition method is used to synthesized high purity MnZn ferrite, NiZn ferrite and Sr ferrie precursor powders. The influence of relevant craft on the precursor powders is discussed in this paper. Utilizing SHS can produce high purity NiZnFe2O4 within short time, and the stoichiometric proportion of solid solution is close to the formula. With the increased soaking time, remaining Fe2O3 content decrease gradually, and the stoichiometric proportion of solid solution is much closer to the compounding; when the relative density of raw materials is up to 63%, the stoichiometric proportion of product is accurate . Studies on the prepared MnZnFe2O4 with SHS shows that with the increasing content of iron powder ,the content of remaining Fe2O3 decreases guadually, while the content of remaining FeO and the total amount of the main phase spinel ferrite increases guadually; with the rising of lighting temperature, the content of remaining Fe2O3 decreases guadually, the content of remaining FeO and the total amount of the main phase spinel ferrite increases guadually;With the increased soaking time,the content of remaining Fe2O3 increases after reducing, the content of remaining FeO reduces after increasing , the total amount of the main phase MnZnFe2O4 increases in the first 5min, and decreases later. However, compared with commercialized products, the performance of the prepared samples in this paper need to be improved further. Investigation on the SrFe12O19 obtained by SHS method indicates that: â‘´SHS aids method can prepare single-phase Sr-ferrite ,and the phase structure is close to traditional product;and its magnetic properties were: Br=0.163T,Hcb=113kA/m,Hcj=254kA/m,(BH)max=5kJ/m3.
