The heat and moisture permeability of the fabrics is one of the important factors, which have great influence on comfort of the garments. The fiber properties, the yarn structures and properties, the fabric structures and properties interact, as the results the heat and moisture permeability of the fabrics show great differences. The factors of the fibers, yams and fabrics have very complicate relations with the heat and moisture permeability. It is difficulty to study the relation between them by using of traditional mathematical and physical methods.With the characteristics of self-learning, self-organization and self-adapting, neural network expressed its superior on the model setting of complicated system. It has been wildly applied in the areas of biology, business, environment, finance, manufacturing, medical science, military and communication. It becomes more and more important in the research and production of textile industry.The method to apply artificial neural network into the area of heat and moisture permeability of the fabric were studied and discussed in this work. The artificial neural network systems were set and trained. The software used in predicting the heat and moisture permeability was obtained. The results of this research work can be applied into the textile property test, provide a very fast and precision tool for measurement and have great application future.
