The paper focuses on the hot-pressing technique of wood fiber and waste polypropylene (PP) . The effects of different modifiers on the mechanical properties of the composites were studied. The results showed modifiers could raise the bonding strength of wood fiber with polymer and improve the mechanical properties of the composites. Different modifiers had different effects on the properties of wood-polymer composites, which takes not only the advantages of both wood fiber and polymer, but waterproof, dimensional stability and dynamic strength are also significantly improved.When MA is modifier, through testing the mechanical performance of wood-polymer composites product with density of 0.74g/cm~3, moisture content of 12%, PP content of 40%, hot-pressing temperature of 175℃, hot-pressing time of 8min, IB 1.05MPa, MOR 18.37MPa, MOE 1.85GPa, TS 3.52%. When isocyanate is modifier, through testing the mechanical performance of wood-polymer composites product with density of 0.72g/cm~3, moisture content of 12%, PP content of 40%, hot-pressing temperature of 175℃, hot-pressing time of 12min, IB 1.19MPa, MOR 22.56MPa, MOE 1.33GPa, TS 8.74%.By studying compound mechanism with dynamic mechanical properties and Scanning, it was proved that the main chemical structures have changed. The possible reasons were explained in the meanwhile.
