Material, energy and information are the most important aspects in modern science and technology. With the development of material science, new materials with good performances have been studied and applied in many fields. With the development of modern electronic industry, information industry and advanced technology, the applications and development of conductive polymer, specifically filling conductive polymer in the field of new technology have attracted most attentions.Two parts mainly are involved in this paper. The first is about the research on the effect of solvent on electrical properties of carbon filled conductive composites. In order to obtain high performance carbon filled conductive composites, a method based on molar group contribution has been suggested for estimating solubility parameter value of acrylic polymers synthesized by us. According to the theory of solubility parameter and the solubility of acrylic polymers, the suitable solvent blends for carbon filled conductive composites are selected from several good solvents of acrylic polymers by experiments. The effects of the content of solvent and the solubility parameter of solvent on the conductivity of the carbon filled conductive composites are discussed.The second is about the research on electrical properties of silver filled conductive composites. The conducting characteristics of polymer blends filled with silver particles were described in this paper. The relation between the content, particle size, shape of the silver particles and the disperse of the fillers and the volume resistivity of the materials was studied emphatically. The effects of the binding agent, the solidification process on the conductivity of the material, solvent and the molecular weight of the polymer matrix are also discussed. The results show that when the silver content is 65% ~70% (by mass),the electrical conductivity of the composite gets the best, that is the volume resistivity the composite has the smallest numerical value. We also found that when the content of the binding agent in coating was 4% and thecoating film was cured first at temperature and then at 95 °C for two hours, the conductivity ability of Ag conductive coating was the best.The conduction mechanism for the filling conductive polymers is discussed.
