Now camouflage technology and equipments are faced with threaten and challenges which come from all kinds of high technical detection and precise guide. But there are many shortages and difficult problems in camouflage of ground targets, so developing the technology of simulative decoys is an exigent requirement now. IR thermal graphic decoy simulation is the key technology and difficulty of high performance simulative decoy, and this difficulty has not been resolved at present all over the world. In this paper, a new kind of IR thermal graphic decoy simulative technology was researched. This technology made use of phase change materials phase change latent heat to control temperature to simulate IR thermal characters and its changing process of the true target, so IR thermal graphic decoy simulation was realizedUsing two different kinds of crafts, one is in situ polymerization and the other is complex coacervation, to prepare paraffin's microcapsule successfully, and studied on affected factors to the microcapsule's performance. The microcapsule has fine performance: its content of paraffin reaches 50%~60%, the highest temperature it could be able to bear reaches 150~180℃, it has 150— 170J/g of phase change latent heat, also it can be able to endure more than 100 phase change cycle's process. The two kinds of crafts have different applying areas. A new method was designed to measure the content of urea-formaldehyde resins microcapsule's core materials, and the method was better than the original method.Using two methods of oxidation and graft to modification paraffin's performances, what was in order to widen paraffin's phase change temperature and improve its latent heat. By studying on reaction mechanism and affected actors of the two methods, it could be found that the relation of reaction conditions and phase change temperature/latent heat, and widen paraffin's phase change temperature successfully, and its latent heat was improved to 10%~40% more than before. The relation of paraffin's phase change temperature/latent heat and its molecule structure was summarized in this paper, and it can be a theory guide to improve the continuous research.According to decalescence and discharge heat of phase change, single dimension passes heat theory model of phase change was created. This model simulated the change of phase change material's surface temperature inside room successfully, and its result was exact. It can be a theory guide to microcapsule's using in IR thermal graphic decoy simulation. The application method of microcapsule was studied. Microcapsule coating crafts, box off loading crafts and stickiness crafts were experimented. The heat module with phase change microcapsule and IR cover hinder were made, and their effects were tested. The result showedthat phase change microcapsule had both function of IR thennal graphic decoy and IR stealth.
