Nano-MnZn and nano-Nicu ferrite were produced by sol-gel method and their structure and microwave absorption property was measured. The results of experiments indicate that both of these two kinds of compound ferrite have some microwave absorption property and nano-NiCu ferrite is better than nano-MnZn ferrite in the microwave absorption properties. Then different amount of rare earth cerium was doped in the both kinds of ferrite. We find that the microwave absorption properties of both kinds of ferrite change as different amount of rare earth cerium doped. When the mol ratio of rare earth cerium is 3%(x=0.03), the microwave absorption property is best. The absorption band broadens and microwave absorption property is improved obviously. The biggest value increases to 18.64 dB after rare earth cerium doped to 16.67 dB without doping. But when the mol ratio of rare earth cerium doped isl% and 7%(x=0.01,0.07), the absorption property deteriorates, and it is worse than before doping. Similar to nano-MnZn ferrite, the biggest absorption value of nano- Nicu ferrite increases to 21.927 dB after doping to 13.3 dB before doping. When the mol ratio of rare earth cerium doped is1 % and 5%(x=0.01,0.05), the microwave absorption property gets worse than without doping. These indicate that only doping proper amount of rare earth cerium can improve microwave absorption property of nano-Mnzn and nano-nicu ferrite, and doping more or less amount of it is not favorable to improving microwave absorption property.From the X-ray picture, we can see the forming temperature of MnZn ferrite phase is very high. Self-propagating method can't acquire nano-MnZn ferrite crystal of single phase. Different from Mnzn ferrite, the forming temperature of NiCu ferrite is low and we can acquire ultra-fine powderof single phase in nanometer degree by self-propagating method. It can greatly simplify and deduce preparation material work. In addition, doping rare earth cerium can make powders finer, which is benefit to improve the microwave absorption property of ferrite. The microwave absorption property of ferrite has some relationship with magnetism. The less coercive force and saturation magnetization are, the better microwave absorption property of ferrite is. At last, the microwave absorption property of samdwich material is primary discussed.
