Activated carbon is considered as a kind of excellent adsorption material. Although it has been applied in most situations to purge contaminations in environment activated carbon was not used sufficiently because of its relative high price. The main reasons is as followed: firstly it was difficult to gain satisfied efficiencies of energy by using traditional method to produce activated carbon and the material was not abundant as before. Another problem is that the rapid renewing of activated carbon has not been resolved, such as the way of steam heating to renew activated carbon, because of the low temperature, slow speed, high cost and giant equipment.Microwave was undefiled energy. Due to its particular heating mechanism and efficiencies the microwave heating has used widely in the area of chemical, iatrology, environment and so on. As the results showed it was satisfied way to manufacture activated carbon using the technology of the microwave heating. The activated carbon can absorbed the energy of microwave with high efficiencies and renewed rapidly. It has obvious significance to improve the traditional way and empoldered new technics and equipment to produce and renew activated carbon. The main tasks of this paper:1. Design and makingAccording to the basal structure of microwave heating equipment on market the author redesigned and made the microwave syntonic cavity. In this process it was all improved that the controlling of power, radialization uniformity and the technology of antisepsis, which has own property right.2. The basic capability measurementComparing with the domestic microwave oven the author investigated the measurement method of effective output-power and heat field of the microwave carbonizing stove made by ourselves. The work afforded some experiences to others who would use this equipment in the future.3. Application experienceThere were two parts of the experiment. One was to renew the used activated carbon and the other was to manufacture the activated carbon using one-off chopsticks by the microwave carbonizing stove above. In this process the author probed into the excellent condition to manufacture or to renew the activated carbon.4. Costing of microwave carbonizing stoveIn this part the author supplied the data that the process of manufacture and renewing the activated carbon by the microwave carbonizing stove in order to show to factories.The microwave carbonizing stove has some obvious properties. Based on abundant experiment and studies the results can be concluded as followed:1. The performance of the microwave carbonizing stove is stabilization, and it can be used do the experiment of renew the activated carbon and produced activated carbon.2. All the data which were analyzed by the software Matlab6.5 showed that the energy in heat field of the microwave carbonizing stove has better uniformity than that of domestic microwave oven by using the syntonic cavity associated with mode-beater.3. It was feasible to renew the activated carbon used to adsorb phenol by using the microwave carbonizing stove. It only took 3 min to get the activated carbon with discolored 11ml/0.1g, and that was better than the national standard. But there was relatively more weigh loss.4. The perfect technics of manufacture the activated carbon using one-off chopsticks by the microwave carbonizing stove was that concentration of the impregnant was 40%, microwave power was 1160W, time of heating was 18 min, and discolored rate of activated carbon was 21ml/0.1g, which is 1.75 times as high as the national standard.
