With the increase of the depth of excavating, the great thick gravelstone layer aquifer of Tertiary system threatens the fourth coal seam of Shanxi group more and more. Firstly, the thesis analyses the characters of geology and hydrologic geology of huafeng coal mine on the base of fully knowing the theory and technology of resisting water-inrush of apical plate both at home and abroad, summarizes the regularities of distribution of the sandstone and gravelstone layer based on the data of drills and coal mine and finds the character of containing water and the regularities of distribution of the great thick gravelstone layer in the great depth applying the geophysical prospecting of changing instantly. Secondly, based on the underground pressure theory and combining the simulation experiment of equivalent material, the thesis studies the character of movement of the mantle fock under the condition of the great thick gravelstone layer and coal measures strata and reveals the development character of water flowing fractured zone and the forming and evolvement course of streak crack. Further, on the base of analysis of factors that affect the water-inrush of gravelstone layer, the thesis discusses the mechanism that water flowing fractured zone and streak crack affect the water-inrush of gravelstone layer and establishes the mechanical model of water-inrush from lower level combining the sample of water-inrush on 1409 working face. Finally, based on the research findings and combining the scene, the thesis puts forward measures of prevention and harnesing of water-inrush.
