Metal-organic coordination polymers, with 1, 2, 3-D covalent frameworks, are constructed by self-assembly between bidentate or multdentate organic ligand as building block and metal center as template. The research on structure and property of the metal-organic coordination polymer not only riches theory and practice of coordination chemistry, but also extends the application prospect for the compounds in optics, magnetis, catalysis and biology simulation.Organic ligand plays an important role in constructing the coordination polymers. 2,2'-bipyridyl-3,3'-dicarboxylic acid(H2bpdc) is a multdentate organic ligand with various coordination modes and strong coordinated ability as its two pyridyl N atoms and four carboxyl O atoms all can participate the coordination. Based on the principles of molecule design and self-assembly, adopting the solvothermal reactions, we synthesised a new metal-organic complex, and three novel metal-organic coordination polymers with H2bpdc as the organic ligand and Cu(â…¡), Ni( â…¡) , Nd( â…¢) , La( â…¢) as the central metals, respectively.
