Moving bed biofilm reactor is one of the common technologies used in wastewater treatment and there are many advantages in nitrogen removal. The deep research of nitrogen removal in moving bed biofilm reactor has many magnitude importance, such as the deep investigation of the influence of reactor's kinetic model to nitrogen removal, ascertaining the relative parameter, forming integrated theoretic system and treating wastewater effectively. In this paper, moving bed biofilm reactor was selected as the test reactor. The treatment performance of two new types of polymer suspending carrier PVF, in which different proportion of activated carbon were added, was investigated and compared. The results showed that the system with higher proportion of activated carbon had better COD removal efficiency, but the nitrogen removal efficiency was lower. This illuminated that higher activated carbon content didn't always avail nitrification but the denitrification got better comparatively. Besides, the impact of hydraulic retention time (HRT), the ratio of carbon and nitrogen, dissolved oxygen on treatment efficiency was researched. The best operational conditions of this experiment were as follows: HRT=6h, C/N=30, DO=5.0-6.5mg/L, the ratio of gas to liquid was between 40:1 and 60:1. The kinetic model of the medium attached microorganism wasIn this paper, the bio-activity of activated sludge in the reactor was investigated...
