In this article, the effect that flocculation can have on the separation characters of phosphoric acid slurry via wet method was studied. The experiment results showed that flocculation can greatly improve the separation characters of phosphoric acid slurry via wet method, and also play an important role on promoting the production of phosphoric acid. Because of many kinds of flocculations, based on the others'studying results, adopting sedimentation experiment selected a kind of appropriate flocculation, it is adapatable to the experimental slurry. And then mainly studied its'effects to the filtration characters of phosphoric acid slurry via wet method. The sendimentation experiment equipment adopts a series of measuring cylinder with the same standard. The filtration experiment equipment adopts vacuum pump and filler. The slurries used in experiment were made in different concentrations of phosphoric acid. Using orthogonal tests, the primary factors, such as degree of vacuum, filtration temperature, concentration of phosphoric acid slurry, the quantities of floculation used, the stiring intensity and time, whose influene to the phosphoric acid slurry were studied. The experimental results of this article were gotten as follows: compared with the slurry that have not been added flocculation, adding flocculation can remarkably enhance the filtration characters of phosphoric acid slurry. The effection factors can range as follows: concentration of phosphoric acid slurry, the quantities of flocculation used, vacuum degree of filtration, stiring time, filtration temperature and stiring intenstity. The optimal operation conditions for filtration are indicated as follows: concentration of phosphoric acid slurry should be controlled at about 400g/l, the degree of vacuum filtration should be controlled at about 70kpa, the filtration temperature should be about 80 oC, the stiring intensity is about 150 s ?1, and the stiring time should be approximately 120 seconds. Regressing and fitting the experimental datum, the aim is to establish an empirical mathematical model for filtration rate of phosphoric acid slurry. These results can be functioned as the theoretical fundamentals for design and operation of slurry filtration in the manufacturing of wet-process phosphoric acid, and also can be applied in the amplification and optimization of industrial production of phosphoric acid.
