Due to corrosion, the quantity of the worthless metal equipments and materials is very striking yearly. It caused a great loss to the national economy. It's estimated that about 25 percents of the output of steels in the world was damaged. Only in America the quantity of the waste steel is more than 30,000,000 tons per year. Hence, it consumes great energy to smelt worthless steels.The metal corrosion is more harmful to metal-made products than the metal itself. In industrial production, especially in chemical production, it causes inestimable losses because of the leakage of the steam and gas, the environmental pollution, the labor condition and personal healthy worsening, low product quality, and even the accidents. So how to prevent metal corrosion is very important and pressing. At present, in such fields as the aviation, spaceflight, etc., a lot of progress as have been made in high-temperature inorganic coating. But, most of the civil heat-resisting coating somewhat develops slowly, which is still organic silicon coating. So the main task is todevelop a base material which has a high temperature resistance, good coat nature, practical performances with high-temperature resin, and a new packing with different performances under the high-temperature condition of base material.The purpose of the preparation of the inorganic and organic compound paint to resist corrosion and high temperature is launched in conformity with the request of steel group company of Panzhihua. The preparation of the compound benefits from inorganic silicon with high-temperature resistance and acrylic acid latex with good coating performance and adhesive force. Then mixed with high-temperature resistance packing, the inorganic and organic compound paint was prepared.The inorganic and organic compound paint to resist corrosion and high temperature was prepared with the modified silicon sol and acrylic acid monomer. It has not only high temperature resistance, incombustibility, wearablity, all-weather, solvent resistance, and high hardness, but also characteristics of good coating, transparency and flexibility. Then, the inorganic and organic compound paint was prepared with acrylic acid latex and inorganic packing. In addition, the performance was examined.The influence of the performance of latex, directions and process conditions were investigated in detail. The performance of the coating prepared by the optimum direction are as follows:1. low filming temperature : 20°C;2. The high temperature resistance is up to 500°C; and at thistemperature, the color will not change in 8 hours. The performance of the coatings can be kept in long time at 200-300 °C3. Durable, anti-acid and alkali, and pollution resistance;4. Strong adhesive force up to 1 grade;5. Low pollution.
