The properties, market quotation, prices and the application in high capability cell, light alloy, and nuclear fusion are discussed. Two methods of technology to product metal lithium are analyzed and compared, the improvement of the two technologies are given in this thesis.It is difficulty on transporting or preservation because the lithium chloride, which is the raw material to produce metal lithium by electiolysis, absorbs water easily. The hydrating process of anhydrous lithium chloride is studied. The result shows that the most important influencing factor is surface area of particle. The following are relative humidity, water adsorption time and temperature. The kinetics study on the hydrating process of LiCl to LiCl·H2O are obtained. The activation energy is 38.02 kJ·mol-1, the reaction order is 1, the frequency exponent is 7.43×10-3 min-1.The corrosion rate of some metals and alloys, which are made auto-accumulated and ejective device for metal lithium possibly, are obtained in the stimulant molten LiCl-KCl. The result show that using A9 alloy to made auto-accumulated ejective device for metal lithium is suitable because of the corrosive rate of it only 0.10mm/a. The device can resist completely the corrosion of molten LiCl-KCl, liquid lithium and chlorine in electrolysis experiment.The new electrolytic tank and auto-accumulated ejective device are designed and fabricated, the metal lithium is succeeded to send out from auto-accumulated ejective device and flow into the mold of working trunk that permeate argon gas. All these prove that the structure of electrolytic tank and auto-accumulated ejective device is reasonable. It is avoided that metal lithium is polluted by atmosphere in the course of ladling metal lithium by hand, so it improves the purity of metal lithium.The new electrolytic tank and auto-accumulated ejective device are designed and fabricated, the metal lithium is succeeded to send out from auto-accumulated ejectivedevice and flow into the mold of working trunk that permeate argon gas. It is avoided that metal lithium is polluted by atmosphere in the course of ladling metal lithium by hand, so it improves the purity of metal lithium.About 56.3kg metal lithium is obtained with technically pure raw materials in this experiment. The purity of lithium is more than 99%. The production is better than national standard Li-2 and close to national standard Li-1.Other impurity contents are lower than the demand for national standard Li-1 except sodium.Materiel equilibrium, voltage equilibrium and energy equilibrium are calculated. The produce cost, technical economical indices, profit and loss of lOOt/a metal lithium factory are predicted on the basis of the experiment. All these offer scientific methods and design parameters to industrialized production of metal lithium.
