Hot rolled TRIP steels are very promising materials for the construction of different automotive parts. This is due to the combination of a high yield strength and a high uniform elongation as a consequence of their bainitic-austenitic matrix. However, the generation of such a matrix requires a strict control of the processing parameters. For these reasons, a model for the hot rolling process is of great practical importance. The model for the prediction of the grain growth of steel during the slab reheating process is the first step to a global model. It not only provides the initial data for the prediction of the evolution of the microstructure of a steel during the hot rolling process but it also delivers a contribution to the optimization of the reheating process.Making use of the calculator imitates and physics experiment methods, the variety of the grain size during the reheating process was studied, two new models for the grain growth during the isothermal and continuous reheating process was deduced. Analyzed the factor what affects the austenitic grain size. The primary discuss has made about the relationship between grain size and fractal dimension.
