The development of Yantai city and Yantai Port have been seriously hurtful to Zhifu Bay. This article makes use of some information from the fieldwork on Zhifu Bay in resent years, and researches into the actuality and evolvement trend of seawater environment, characteristic of sediment contamination, content and distributing of heavy metal in resent 20 years, influence from human activity and industrial construct. The result indicates that the TIN, TIP, OIL go beyond standard so much. Zhifu Bay must be rich nutrient area. The content of other contamination is in determinate range in resent three years. In contrast with some other bays on Shandong peninsula, sea water of Zhifu Bay is more bad and the content of TIN, TIP, OIL is the first. The primary pollutant of surface sediment is Organic matter. Combined with the 210Pb dating result and based on the Earth chemical analysis of sediment core in the Zhifu Bay, the result displays that the pollution of Cd, Pb, Zn three elements is the most seriously in Zhifu Bay, Hg appears the ascent trend. The status of heavy metal pollution must be three moment. The content of heavy metal had heightened slowly before 1997, had descent in 1998, had heightened rapidly from 1999 to now. Pollutant of city, construct of port, shipping waste influence the environment of Zhifu Bay so much. The letting of polluted water in Yantai Port is the main factor of influence. The water dynamic condition in Zhifu Bay is feeble, which is not benefit to the dissemination of contaminations. The polluting of heavy metal stay by cutting polluted water in 1998, it must strictly control not only the letting of polluted water of ports and ships but also nearly inspect the discharging quantity of contaminations and be ready to meeting an emergency at the same time.
