The gradient surface energy is the new functional material which has been widely applied in the area of energy power, chemical industry, material and bioengineering. The research on the fabrication of the gradient surface energy and the mechanism and the characteristics of the droplets movement on the gradient surface energy would involve in the leading edge research topics in the interdisciplinary areas of the engineering thermophysics, chemical engineering, material science, and so on. It is also valuable in the areas of aviation and spaceflight, electron and energy power. Presently, research on this aspect is just in the first step in the international academic, and the experiment and theory research on this field is limited. The boiling and condensation heat transfer, as one of the most efficient cooling method, have been paid more attention. Therefore, it is a hotspot problem in the world to research and develop the new condensation surface material. The characteristics of the droplet movement on the gradient surface energy supply a method of eliminating the condensation expect for the gravity. Therefore, the gradient surface energy could be capable of eliminating the condensation in time and improve the condensation heat transfer as for horizontal surface or other gravity free state surface. In this paper, the author began from the experiment, fabricated the gradient surface energy and then researched on the characteristics of the gradient surface energy and the mechanism of the droplets movement. It would establish the important theory basis of the application of the condensation heat transfer. Therefore, this research possesses high learning value and engineering applicable value. The main works and conclusions would be described as follows: 1. Designing and building up reasonable experiment table for fabricating the gradient surface energy, and the effective gradient surface energy could be fabricated by chemical vapor deposition. 2. Observing the gradient surface energy by atom force microscope, achieving the surface topography of the gradient surface energy, and then the forming of the gradient surface energy by chemical vapor deposition would be analyzed. 3. Researching on the characteristics of the gradient surface energy and the mechanism of the droplets movement by visualizing experiment, taking the different factors into considered, and then the experimental data could be achieved. 4. Experimenting on movement characteristics of the different medium on the gradient surface energy, analyzing the correlation parameter which affects the droplets movement rule, and then the corresponding performance characteristics of droplets movement could be achieved. 5. Experimenting on movement characteristics of the different medium on the gradient surface energy, and then the rule which affects the droplets movement with the different medium could be achieved. 6. Researching on the coalescence of droplets on the gradient surface energy by visualizing experiment, and the effect of droplets movement by the coalescence process would be analyzed. 7. The movement mechanism of the droplets on the gradient surface energy could be explained by the experiment.
