The second refining is the new advanced technology of iron and steel industry inland and abroad. With the development of purify steel technology and continue cast, the equipment and facility of second refining, the demand of production cost. In the industrial countries, such as Japan. USA, the rate of second refining is over 90%, the rate of vacuum second refining is over 50%, and some plants is up to 100%. The second refining is the basic of advanced technology producted quality steel, and it is sign of modern iron and steel process and high production quality steel. The main function of seconding refining is including: mixing of bath, uniformity of steel component and temperature, purification of refining, reaction of slag and metal bath, vacuum second refining and injecting metallurgy, de-S, de-P, de-inclusion, adjusting the process, improving purify degree and controlling the temperature. The paper introduced several second refining technnology: LF,RH,VD, VOD and mix round.Form the chemic component and physics character of slag, this paper research the composition and melting point of slag and bubbling characteristic.The capability of slag gas storage has the relationship with physics and chemic character of slag. Physics character of slag are about density, viscosity, surface tension. Chemic character of slag are reasonable composition of CaO, SiO2, MgO, Al2O3, CaF2.The low surface tension available to forming and stabilization of slag. Exponent of rising air bubble has the same relationship of viscostiy. Aim at the instance of Kuang Gang Iron and Steel Company (KGISC), this paper offer the suitability slag component and prescriptions for CWISC, in order to meet demand of second refining.Research desulfurize ability of slag ,tbis paper discuss the effect of CaO, SiO2, MgO, Al2O3, CaF2 in slag, and confirm optimize prescription of LF slag. At last, these papers research the component of CaO-CaF2 series of slag. To different series steel, this paper give he different optimize slag prescriptionAs the base of CWISC LF parameter, calculate the gas mix round power in steel ladle. Injection argon in LF ladle can meet the demand of heat up and desulfurizing. The mixing power 70t ladle in KGISC,the gas mix round power is 1.97 × 104 W , 2.96×104W , 3.94×104W , 4.93×104W ,when the argon flowrate is about 40Lmin-1, 60Lmin-1, 80Lmin-1, 100Lmin-1.
