Neptunium and Plutonium are strictly controlled in the Uranium product after nuclear fuel reprocessing for their half long lives and high toxicity. Direct measurement of them is not applicable because U/Pu, U/Np ratio are extraordinary large. The conventional methods of uranium separation on uranium product for Np, Pu measurement are too complicated to meet the requirement of uranium product quality control. Determination of Np, Pu in uranium product needs veracity, stability and efficiency for uranium product quality control. So development of the high efficiency separation procedure for measurement of Neptunium and Plutonium in the Uranium product is important for the quality control of nuclear fuel reprocessing. In this work Argon Pressurized Anion-Exchange evacuated Column System was established for effective separation of plutonium and neptunium from a large quantity of uranium specimen at one time. This system improves the decontamination factor of uranium and separation speed. Consequently, determination of Np, Pu in uranium product with above mentioned separation method meet the requirement of uranium product quality control. After separation of Neptunium and Plutonium from the simulated uranium product Neptunium and Plutonium were measured with large area grid ionization chamber-alpha spectrometry. The result shows the separation coefficient of Puand Np is higher than 80000 and the recovery of neptunium is 78%, the recovery of plutonium is 87%.The separation and the measurement method were used to determination of alpha emitters in the High-Level-Liquid-Waste. Pu and Np were quantified after separation. The total alpha and Am activity was obtained by comparison of total alpha spectra from direct measurement of diluted High Level Liquid Waste sample with Pu and Np spectra after separation. The precision ofPu, Am and total alpha are less than 3%. The precision ofNp is less than 5%. The proficient test shows all of these results are accurate.
