Development of the human society always accompanies with certain price, which has been affirmed by the history of human civilization. With the rising of global problems, understanding the ecological price is getting more and more important. On the surface, the damage to ecological assets mirrors the disorderly relationship between mankind and nature. In essence, it also reflects the off-balance relationships among human beings, and between humans and their society. Therefore, how we handle the damages to ecological environment during the economic development is crucial to a nation's development and survival. Treating the nature well is doing your own a favor.This article studies the causes of damage to our country's ecological system, and strategy to contain ecological losses during the transition period. The first part points out the significance of researching the ecological price by inspecting ecological problems. The second part analyzes real examples and characterized ecological losses focusing the general causes and specific causes. The third part using price theory, persevering the principles of a well-balanced economic development and environment protection and combination of technology and society control, this article seeks a strategy to control the ecological losses.
