Fibre-reinforced composite laminates have been widely used in structural engineering applications such as in automobile , aircraft, avigation, weapon manufacture and other modern industries.Their mechanical response and failure behavior ,therefore, have attacted considerable research interest in the last several decades.Under different loading conditions these materials exhibit extremely complex damage modes.Damage and failure can occur in dynamic fashion, usually triggered by sudden structural overload(e.g.,shock,foreign body impact) Under many service conditions. As a result,it is doubtless important for assessment to research of composite laminates' dynamic mechanical behavior and impact, analysis and predict mechanical properties ,make out mechanics of damaged. In this paper, experiment and finite element results are presented to describe the anisotropic states of stresss, strain and damage of composite laminates. The details are as follows:Test the stress-strain curve , tensile strength and failure strain of composite laminates at high strain rate. The experiment shows composite laminates CFRP and GFRP are sensitive to the strain rate.In addition, the experiment with notched specimen detects dynamic roughness of CFRP and GFRP.Simulate and analyze the mechanical response and failure of composite laminates according to tsai-wu failure criterion under dynamic loading.Apply FEA software ansys to simulate the transmission of stress wave in composite laminates.
