| The performance of Orbal oxidation ditch used in Wastewater Treatment Plants at home and board is proved to be brilliant. In this paper the mechanism of BOD and COD removal, nitrogen removal, phosphate removal of Orbal oxidation ditch is to be discussed, and the parameters affecting biological wastewater treatment is also reviewed. Besides the way of estimating AOR, hydraulics of Orbal OD is involved. Finally the excellent performance of Orbal oxidation ditch in WWTP of JiangJin DeGan and its sludge characteristics were introduced and analyzed. The example indicated that Orbal OD will be get used more and more.
