With the rapid development in the fields of aeronautic and aerospace, shipbuilding and mould, the complicated parts with thin-wall are widely used in modern industry more than before. There are some disadvantages with traditional fixture systems, such as complicated fixture, long period of designing and manufacturing and high cost etc. At present, many countries have been studing on flexible fixture and agile fixture to reduce the cost of designing and manufacturing, and shorten the period of production and reduce the cost of product.IL&SM (Initiative Location and State Memory) is a new flexible fixture. It is used successfully in fixturing complicated parts of spinning machine, artifical bones, parts of war industry etc. This paper is mainly about the study and application of key devices about IL&SM.Consulted key technology of IL&SM, sleeve locating box have been designed. Its material and technics have been determined. Conversion of benchmark mathematical model have been analysed.The missile radome, a thin-wall and revolving body with complicated curved surface, is one of the key parts of homing guidance missile. Its hitting accuracy is very high, but its fixture is inflexibile and complex. It takes much time to locate it. So, based on sleeve locating box , a flexibile reconfigurable universal installation system of missile radome is designed, which realize the conversion of benchmark from machining external surface to machining internal surface. Then, positioning error have been analysed and calculated, the result meets accuracy specification.Elasticity piston ring is the key part of installation system of missile radome. Its operation distance have been calculated and proved by finite element analysis(FEA).We also have done modal analysis and proved the result of the frequency range, when it stably operates.Based on the analysis and computing above, we developed a IL&SM fixture system on the missile radome and had a successful test, which prove the correction of method and analysis.
