Isotactic polypropylene (PP) has been widely applied. The preparation of PP hadbecome a focus of industrial development recently, which can be applied in manyfields. The research and preparation of the novel catalyst for PP play an important rolein polyolefin industry. The diol ester compound was used as a new-type internal electron donor forZiegler-Natta (Z-N) catalyst system recently. By the propylene polymerization with thenovel diol ester catalyst, the PP had good properties--high stereo regularity andmachining properties etc. Few reports have been founded about their preparations. Inthis paper, two kinds of novel internal donors have been prepared with an improvedmethod. The two diol esters were 2,5-dimenthyl-2,5-hexandiol-dibenzoyl-methyl esterand 2,5-dimenthyl-2,5-hexandiol-dipropyl ester. By studying the factors of thepreparation, the optimal conditions were established. With the support of MgCl2 andinternal donors of diol ester, a novel Z-N catalyst was synthesized. We studied theproperties of the novel catalysts. After the polymerization with the propylene, weconcluded that the catalyst activities and the I.I. of PP were excellent even without theexternal donors for the novel catalyst. In this paper, we also studied the scaling up processes of the Z-N catalyst. Thetechnical process and the parameters of the key point reaction vessels was confirmedby experimental model.
