Metal plastic deforming process is a kind of quite complex and large elastic-plastic deformation process. Although the theory in this field has been developed very systematically and all kinds of method have been advanced widely, there is a great gulf fixed between basic theory and practical engineering application. The results of Finite Element Method (FEM) are all numerical, which are lack of physical meanings in comparison with analytic solution. So it is difficult to show corresponding relationship between parameters inner researching objects and the laws of their mutual effects;the application of Upper Bound Element Method (UBEM) by itself gives only an upper solution, but a real one, which restricts its application greatly. Then a new analytic method- Model Element Method (MEM) is developed on the base of these basic theory.According to the MEM, the object is divided into several characteristic elements, which can be described by using different basic theoretic models. MEM firstly divides the process into several characteristic time sections, and then the object is divided into some model elements from the space based many physical surfaces. The solutions of all model elements in all time section will buildup the whole solution of the whole process.Because the slide-line theory characters geometric visualization and it can determine the plastic field and rigid field, the paper is to develop a model element describing the corner's filling of forging mold cavity by use this slide-line theory. The model element is one of model elements in MEM and provides a solution to questions of bulk forming which is alike corner's filling, it is very important in both theory and practice.After the basic notions and main characters are introduced, the paper draw the slide-line field in the comer of different contact friction and obliquity of cavity based the method of drawing and boundary condition. In the determined slide-line field, the geometry of plastic field, stress and its distribution along the cavity's bottom are determined. The software Origin is used to deal with the numerical data and a serialof functions is achieved. In the end of the paper, a simulation solution which is finished by using of DEFORM accords to the solution by MEM.The model element in the paper has deepened and widened the MEM, and enlarged the model element in MEM. The analytic process itself has developed the application of slide-line theory. The solution such as plastic field's determination, stress functions and its distribution would have complex significance.
