The water absorbing mechanism of synthetic polymers and biomaterials were studied by the osmotic stress experiment. The water transport in the plants was studied too.The progress of the water absorbing mechanism of polymer materials and natural biomaterials were discussed from their structural character, in addition, the process of water transport under saline conditions was also analysed. The method of the water absorbing mechanism along with the problem in the method were expatiated. On the basis of these discussions, the gist and innovation of the study can be clarified in the field. There were more different between electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions in the absorption power of superabsorbent polymers , those differences were analysed by determining the osmotic pressure of solutions with SAP and without as well as the absorption power. Furthermore, the swelling stage of SAP in different solutions was discussed, and the kinetic parameter of K was obtained.Based on the research of the superabsorbent polymers, we took the auricularia auricula as the research object. The absorption power and the osmotic pressure had been determined separately, and auricularia auricula's absorbing kinetic parameter of K value was obtained under the different temperature. Results obtained showed that the change of the temperature influence of the water-absorbing on speed , especially on the preliminary stage. Moreover, the osmotic pressure was took into account, the results indicated that the auricularia auricula can either absorb ions or seep out other substances during the process of absorbing water. In this paper, garlic seedlings were treated with different concentrations of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The content of the main inorganic ions and organic substances, the osmotic pressure and water content of the root and leaves were determined after treatment. The results of this study suggested that the sum of inorganic ions and organic solutes had a obvious increase under osmotic stress, especially inorganic ions, consequently, the damage to the plant was reduced. The osmotic pressure increased while the content of thewater decreased, which indicated that the change of water transport in plants under osmotic stress.
