The technology of data processing for complicated surfaces (complicated surfaces modeling) is an important problem of reverse engineering. It is widely used in the fields of aviation, spaceflight,automobile,mould and home electrical appliance industry. The model of complicated surfaces will influence the product's aerodynamics, man-machine engineering science and fairness directly,and will determine the product's performance and market response sensitivity. Focusing on the problems of the traditional data processing for complicated surfaces,a novel method of rapid data processing which represent complicated surfaces by a set of measuring points and its theories will be introduced in this paper.The missile radome is large-scale and complicated revolving body which is difficult to be grinded. According to the technical requirement of the radome, measuring principle for the inner surface, the acquisition and processing of the measuring data, automatic generating of CNC G-Code ,have been also studied.The chief contribution of this paper is the method of rapid data processing which represent complicated surfaces by a set of measuring points. Due to the technical requirement of the radome,a special modeling method is discussed. The paper presents the method that seeking random points' coordinates through cube spline interpolation on circle direction and generatrix direction. This programming method has the advantage of high stability and NC programme simpleness, modeling calculation simpleness, simple part interpolation.This paper presents unequally spaced sectional ring-cutting method through equal residual height on generatrix direction and isoparametric on circle direction. The method has been applied successfully in the precise grinding system of missile radome and the G-Code generated by using it can grind the missile radome's inner-surface accurately and efficiently.Based on all mentioned above, a NC oriented data processing for complicated surfaces software has been accomplished. Machining experiments have been carried out and the results have proven that the system of the equipment is reliable and robust.
