A gear is a kind of important driving part used in car. In recent years, with the rapid development of automobile, there is a much stricter demand to gear's manufacturing. With the fast development of cold forging technology, the gears especially the gears used in car, can be manufactured in cold precision forging technology. Cold precision forging of gears has a lot of advantages when compared to conventional gear shaping, such as material saving, better mechanical properties and higher productivity etc, cold precision forging has become the trend of manufacturing gears especially the gears used in car. Based on the rapid development of our native car's manufacture and the project requirement of the "study on cold precision forging technology for the bevel gear used in car"that is taken by our research team, this paper mostly discussed the cold precision forging process for the bevel gears used and its forming laws. Through reading the national and the international literature, the author knew the status and the developing trend of cold precision forging technology and found out the problems of cold precision forging manufacturing the bevel gears, analyzed the difference of our nation with other country in cold precision technology, and predicted the gears manufacturing in cold precision forging technology. After introducing several kinds of precision forming technology, according to the cold precision forging process for bevel gears used in car, the forming principle, the characteristic and the advantages in cold precision forging manufacturing bevel gears used in car were introduced. According to the bevel gears used in car, all technical parameters were calculated, the three-dimensional figure and its mould were designed, the cold precision forging process scheme was instituted, and the primary factors to the cold precision forging was summarized. Based on all above, through the experiment the cold precision forging forming laws was discussed, and according to the laws, the better mould structures were designed, in the end the aimed forming effect was gained.
