Based on the comprehensively analysis to the influencing factors on carburing distortion of heavy-duty truck gears, this paper presented that the heat treatment distortion of heavy-duty truck gears was a complex problem caused by material, forging, mechanic process, process and equipment of heat treatment, ect.Effects of the pretreatment, hardenability steel and various heat treatment processes on the gear distortion have been mainly investigated. Using 9T 1 speed gear as an example, a comparison test was done to disclosure the effect of various pretreatment on the distortion; Using 9T 3-4-5-6 speed gear sleeve, a comparison test was done to disclosure the effects of various carburing processes on the distortion. And applying hardenability steel to three sorts of representative parts of truck gear box HC7S-120 of Hangzhou gear-box factory: 1-2 speed gear sleeve, 4 speed gear and output axis, the effects of hardenability bandwidth of steel on distortion has been compared. It is indicated that the using proper steel, proper pretreatment process and proper controlled carburizing process, the distortion of heavy-duty truck gear caused by heat treatment can be controlled. The reaserch provides essential foundation on experiment and theory for manufacture of heavy-duty truck gears in heat treatment.
