Coal tar pitch, which had been used far and wide in road and construction, is restrictedly applied in industry for worrying about cancer caused by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon and the improved standard of protecting environment. However, coal tar pitch is a necessary and nothing can instead of it these days in aluminum, iron and steel, new style carbon material industry. Consequently, in order to reasonably utilize the large amount of coal tar pitch which is constantly producing, it is an important and urgent task to deal it beforehand, particularly in china which is encourage to make more coal tar pitch, cutting down the concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, protecting green environment and human health.The article aims to reduce carcinogenic PAHs of coal tar pitch. Reducing the concentration of benzo[a]pyrene which is worldwide considered to be a strong carcinogen, by using different polymer reacting with coal tar pitch in different conditions which emphasis on the change of temperature and the quantity of polymer. The polymers include styrene-butadiene-styrene, indene-coumarone resin, polyethylene glycol, unsaturated polyester and epoxy resin. Reaction temperature is limited in 200 ℃ ~350 ℃ according to the progress of producing coal tar pitch and the property of polymer exclude unsaturated polyester and epoxy resin, and the proportion of polymer is restricted in 1 percent to 30 percent, retracting time is 40 minutes. As result shows the highest reducing rate of BaP is 30 percent UP reacting with coal tar pitch, and analysis other PAHs with GC.As a result, BaP's reduction is obvious. The highest BaP's decreasing rate is 32.71 percent by reacting with 3 percent SBS, 48.41 percent with 8 percent CIR, 29.37 percent with 3 percent PEG. It is worthwhile to remind that a big pace is found that UP blending with coal tar pitch can efficiently cut down the BaP. In the end, decreasing rate of BaP reach to 77.48 percent, and after analyzing other PAHs, the result shows other those such as fluoranthene, pyrene, chrysene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, dibenzo[a, h]anthracene is decreasing rapidly.
